As with Safe-Fence webbing our hardware is designed to have pre-conceived
values. In accepting the idea that the fence will suffer periodic and varying
degrees of impact we realized that we must build in calculated weak points.
These weak points accommodate what we have determined to be the least or greatest
acceptable damage that could occur.
First and foremost the least desired damage is injury to the animal. Secondly
tearing the webbing would require a splice that may show up in an unsightly
place. To minimize these two least desired problems the Safe-Fence Tensioners
were designed to hold the webbing tight, swivel left to right and up and down
to absorb concussion. They will also bend open to release the webbing if the
horse absolutely runs full force through the fence. They are easily reshaped
for continued use. Our insulators hold the webbing firm, reducing wind friction
and down line stretching if the fence is hit.
All Safe-Fence electrical connections are tight to avoid arcing but are easily
removed to shut off power to specific strands of areas of fence when needed.
